Bird photographer of the year 2018: in pictures

Shortlists for the coveted Bird Photographer of the Year awards have been announced!

The prizes, run by Nature Photographers and the British Trust for Ornithology, will be presented to winners in August at the Rutland Birdwatching Fair by Springwatch star Chris Packham.  

The deadline for entries has passed - so if you have any London bird photos you are particularly proud of...... save them for next year!
